i heart fall.
i can't wait for fall. weather that is just cool enough. my first wedding anniversary. bonfires (which crissy sharp claimed that they have....she'll have to follow through now, because it just may be the highlight of my fall, coming second only to the anniversary). leaves changing. the smell of bonfires (the anticipation is growing. if crissy doesn't have a bonfire or two, i may be forced to have one at my house, which i am sure the neighborhood association in our garden home community would frown on). celebrating the most wonderful year of my life with the most wonderful man that i know. saying the word "autumn". the few months of relief from a suffocating summer before the onset of a frigid winter. roasting marshmallows over the bonfire (really, crissy, no pressure). a road trip with my hilarious, always entertaining husband. I HEART FALL.

Blackerby Family
I had so much fun with the Blackerby family last weekend. They had no trouble just being themselves while I shot away. I love it when people forget that I am there and act like they do every other day when a photographer is not following them around. I am still learning how to ease people's camera fears and help them to "act natural"....I find that those type of photos are my favorites. The Blackerby family really made things easy for me! Thanks guys!

A few changes...
Adam and I just switched over to mac, so I'm having to make a few changes in my photography workflow. The slideshow program I used previously is only pc-compatible, so it may be a while before I figure out a new system of posting slideshows online.....I guess that just means I'll have to post more photos to make up for it. :) I'm going to try to shoot more and post more in the next few weeks (please hold me to that).
Other important, non-photography news:
MY PARENTS ARE MOVING TO AUSTRALIA IN ONE MONTH.
Wow, right? I was shocked when they told me. My Dad just took a 12-month position at the company's branch in Melbourne. I'm so so so thrilled that my parents are taking this opportunity (they have always put my sister and me before themselves--it's time for them to do something spontaneous and exciting), but at the same time I'm going to miss them terribly. But hey, it's just a year right? I told them they have to start a blog and post lots of pictures. :)
I'M GOING TO BE AN AUNT!!!
Adam's older sister Katie and her husband Lee are having a baby! Their little one is due in March. It's the first grandchild in the family, so everyone is so ecstatic about the news. I can't wait to start buying baby presents!
Well, that's it for my non-photography post. I'm counting on you all to hold me to my promise to be a better blogger.

The McLaughlins
I'm always amazed at how personalities are so distinct from the very beginning. Aubree is nine months old and is such a purposeful, intelligent little thing! During our hour at Botanical Gardens, she soaked in her surroundings, examining everything with a thoughtful intensity. What a gift this will be to her as she grows throughout the years! Jennifer and Cason, you have a beautiful daughter and your love for her is so evident.
