Time to give credit where credit is due...

I'm very new at this whole photography thing, so I can't speak of my many influences like a seasoned veteran. However, there are a few people that encouraged me to take that scary step and just put myself out there. I have always feared failure (and the subsequent rejection), so in a sense, this whole ordeal has been monumental for me. I really feel like I am turning a new page in my life and walk with the Lord. I'm learning what it is like to really, REALLY trust God and not be afraid of falling flat on my face. Maybe I will elaborate on that a little later (I was tempted to follow a winding rabbit trail, but I will decline for now).

My husband Adam has been so supportive of my photography from the beginning. From sacrificing his extra gig money to help buy my much too expensive equipment, to giving up the computer every night so that I can edit my photos, to holding me and speaking words of encouragement when I thought I'd never be good at this....Adam, my sweet husband, thank you.

My friends and fellow photographers, Corey and Erin Nolen, are two extremely talented people that I really look up to. Erin has figured this whole photography thing out and has patiently answered my many, many questions about both the art and business side of things. She and Corey really encouraged me to get a camera and give it a try. I'm really thankful for their example and encouragement--I probably wouldn't have taken the risk without them!

Carrie Smith (soon to be Golden) is the one who FIRST got me interested in photography. She's always been the one who took pictures of everything we did. She was the one that got me my first real slr camera...oh how I loved that thing. She and her fiance have started a videography/photography business that is extremely successful. She is just super talented, and she definitely gets it honest--her dad, Boyce, knows the ins and outs of the technical side of photography and takes some pretty great pictures. I love her and her family dearly, and am so thankful that the Lord put them in my life (for many, many reasons, photography being just one of them).

I cannot forget Crissy Sharp, who I should probably name as my PR consultant/personal manager. I am so very thankful for Crissy Sharp. She has really gotten excited about my photography and given me a sense of confidence that I didn't feel before. More than that, she has become such a wonderful friend and confidant. I can see the Lord using her in my life to teach me about really walking with Him in faith.

So, thank you to you wonderful people who exposed me to photography and gave me the encouragement that I needed to get this thing off the ground. I still have SO much left to learn, but I'm loving the process. I wouldn't have had the courage to do this without you.

Ok, my lunch break is almost over. Time to get back to the day job :)
