My Husband, the Rockstar

Adam has had alot going on with his band, Act of Congress, in the last year.  I'm super proud of how much they've accomplished in the short time that they've been together.  He's just recently decided to continue to pursue his solo career as well, so we made our way to Sloss Furnace yesterday to get some promo shots.  Well, we made it all the way to the locked gate.  We ended up settling for the vacant lot across the street, and hopefully some of these turned out.  I can never complain about getting to photograph the most gorgeous (ahem, I mean handsome) subject in the world.  

Laura & Jim

I met Laura and Jim at Botanical Gardens last Saturday not really knowing what to expect. They are both lawyers and just beautiful people...to tell you the truth, I was a little intimidated! I ended up having the best time with them during their session....they are such a friendly, interesting couple, I hated to go when their session was over! Thank you, Laura and Jim, for trusting me with your engagement photos. Congratulations on the upcoming wedding!

Kristen & Wood

Kristen and I were Phi Mus together at Montevallo, and I have some great memories with her. She's always been able to make me laugh, so I was really looking forward to our time together for her engagement session on Saturday. She and Wood are so sweet together and just so natural in front of the camera!

Wanderings

We roamed the streets of downtown Birmingham, camera in tow, laughing and looking for some inconspicuous haven of light and color to fill pictures and make memories. Kindred undertones set the stage for a lighthearted afternoon. Jennifer knew my husband and brother-in-law before I did, and inevitably several conversations centered around the sheer goofiness they exude. We talked about movies (only the girliest -- Mean Girls, Center Stage, Hairspray-- were worthy of our words). As the tide of conversation weaved and ebbed, it became evident that Jennifer is on the edge of her seat, ready for the changes that await her. Goodbye, UAB. Hello, tomorrow. Jennifer Shell is on her way.

My pictures made it to the Birmingham News!!! I haven't even gotten to see the paper yet...a big thank you to Amanda Hannah for sending this to me. Apparently, this image was circulated around her workplace. She's pretty much a local celebrity these days. I'm not even sure if there were photo credits in the paper, but hey...I'm just excited to see them in print! Hey, if anyone has a copy, could you save it for me?
